A True Grassroots Movement

Project Full Plate began with a simple mission: to transform local spaces into edible landscapes that fight food insecurity. Located at the Fairfield Senior Center, the garden serves as a beautiful crossroads of community enrichment, local volunteerism, and active agricultural education.

Empowering Our Seniors
What makes our initiative unique is the hands that tend it. The garden is primarily maintained by local senior citizens who bring wisdom, care, and consistent dedication to the soil every single day. This project keeps our seniors active, socially connected, and central to the physical well-being of the entire community.
Growing Through Strategic Partnerships
We cannot scale our impact alone. Project Full Plate is proud to be sustained and expanded by organizations that believe in our mission:

The Cawaco RC&D Council

Generously provided the vital grant funding to build our on-site farming tools and equipment storage shed, keeping our operations efficient.

Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Chosen to be part of the 2026 Rooted in Community initiative, Full Plate is excited to enhance our local efforts and broaden our grassroots influence.
